Fish Oil

The beneficial effects of fish oil are endless. Fish helps to reduce inflammation and can reduce risk of age-related macular degeneration. In addition, fish oil helps reduce dry eye and can help people who get recurrent styes.

Lutein/Zeazanthin

Eat those green leafy veggies! Foods such as kale, collard greens, spinach, and swiss chard are packed full of molecules called carotenoids such as lutein and zeazanthin that help to protect the macula from macular degeneration. Interestingly enough, the chemicals are what gives leafy vegetables their color are the same things that give us our best color vison. Research shows that people with highest level of lutein and zeazantin intake can show improvement in the health of the eye allowing for higher definition vision.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C, found in orange juice, grapefruit juice, and spinach, is another fantastic antioxidant that, when used in combination with other nutrients can help slow the development of certain cataracts.
